I love reading, but recently, I have been buying books more than I have been reading them. When you buy a book, you feel like you’re making a commitment to read it. You’re down at least $15, and you’d better make the most of that purchase as soon as possible. Unfortunately, that doesn’t always happen. Even if you’re on a long train, bored out of your mind, it’s difficult to muster up the energy to read for an hour if you haven’t done it in a while. I find that the only way I’m going to read that much is if I’m reading literally every day. I hate to admit it, but routine does make the heart grow fonder for the literary arts, and even if you’re only reading for 15-30 minutes a day, it’s helping you out in the long run. If you love reading but find it difficult to keep up with it, I suggest you read through these reading memes first as a warmup and then pull out a book and get going!
