Recruiter Schedules Interview With Employer Who Fired Him, Live-Tweeting Ensues

Getting fired sucks. There’s the resentment, the blow to one’s self-esteem, and, of course, the prospect (or certainty) of financial insecurity. Some people frantically spend their days on Indeed and LinkedIn, scrolling through hundreds of advertisements frantically as your standards rise and fall like the tides. Others simply sit back, relax, screw around and enjoy a much-needed break from the hustle and grind of capitalism.

This week, we were introduced to a gentleman who managed to fall into both categories. Twitter user @Firr shared a tale so serendipitous (and funny) that it nearly feels fake. The recently-fired programmer had been using a recruiter to find a new opportunity, as people are inclined to do. Problem is, the recruiter set our hero up with an interview with the very same company that gave him the axe. Some people would immediately inform the apparently lazy recruiter of their error. Not @Firr. Instead, he decided to have a little fun with his ex-employers and go through with the interview. Armed with some very unconvincing stick-on mustaches, he met with the hiring manager – and live-tweeted the whole hilarious saga. A true king.
