What with pretty much everything going on in the world right now, it’s easy to feel down about the times that we live in. There are a lot of good reasons to feel like we have been unfortunate to have been born when we were, even if we don’t want to think to hard about them. 

On the other hand, there are many factors in our lives that mean we’ve got it better than at any other time in human history. This has been highlighted by a recent AskReddit thread, which questioned the ways in which we might be living through a «Golden Age». From the technological to the sociological, Redditors could point to many types of phenomena that seem to be in their heyday. 

While not all the examples brought up in this thread are pleasant, they are a reminder that we don’t have to look very hard to realize how many unprecedented things we’ve been able to experience so far.
