Savvy Out-of-State Grandma Creates a YouTube Channel to Read Books to Her Grandchild From Afar

They say that it takes a village to raise a child–and for a lot of people, that village comes in the form of family members. For previous generations, it wasn’t uncommon for your entire ‘village’ to live in the same city, spending quality time with the kiddos and being there for all the major steps in life. But nowadays, it’s more and more uncommon for grandparents to live anywhere near their grandkids, making it complicated to be the cool, helpful, and present grandparent you always wanted to be…

Not for this lady though!

This savvy Gen X grandma decided that she wasn’t going to let a couple hundred miles separate her from her grandkid. Instead of succumbing to seasonal visits and holiday family time, this granny decided to create a YouTube channel so that she could read books to her grandchild, establishing a connection with a new baby that could potentially last a lifetime.

Enjoy this brief, yet wholesome, video of an innovative older woman who’s creating extra special memories with her long-distance grandkid–whether they realize it or not.
