Scammy Hairstylist Charges Clients $125 for a Virtual Product Consultation

I am not above spending a lot on my hair. I’m an unnatural blonde, and if I don’t get my roots bleached at least once every two months, I start looking like I’ve dragged a fudgsicle down the part of my hair. Not to give the fellas reading this a heart attack, but that sets me back at least $170, and that’s if we’re doing the bare minimum. I don’t want to say the most I’ve spent on my hair in one sitting (mostly because I don’t remember), but let’s just say you could probably buy some Taylor Swift nosebleeds with that long-gone bleach money.

Other women have to spend even more on their hair; it can almost feel like an absurdist comedy. One Twitter user recently shared her interaction with a salon that was charging $125 for a virtual product consultation. The consultant wasn’t even in the same room to see or feel the client’s hair, and yet they still felt like they could charge that much to tell people what products to buy. Absolute insanity.
