I feel like many people misinterpret the compliment, «I can’t tell who is the sister and who is the mother!» A lot of hot young moms take this comment quite literally, thinking that people actually can’t tell the difference between a 35-year-old woman and her 16-year-old daughter. For the most part, men use that compliment because they know it is a real ego stroker. They know who the mom is and who the daughter is, but they say it anyway because they want the mom to see that they think she’s beautiful. It’s just as simple as that.
There are many mothers who will take this compliment and run with it, even if they know it makes their daughters uncomfortable. After all, what teenager wants to be implicitly told that they look like they could be their mother’s mom? Of course, that’s not the intention, but it’s often the impact.
