Life would probably be much easier if crazy was distributed evenly among all of us. It might make things less interesting—fewer outrageous arguments, less drama, and a noticeable drop in reality-defying behavior—but it would surely make navigating day-to-day living far smoother. Instead, most get a healthy dose of quirks and eccentricities, while a select few seem to have been gifted an unlimited subscription to nonsensical behavior and the absolute inability to grasp even the most basic ideas of reasonable conduct.

These unbalanced distributions of reality are life’s wildcards. They keep things messy and colorful, forcing the rest of us to navigate their peculiar orbit with patience, boundaries, and maybe a few escape plans. Life may not be fair, but thanks to this peculiar breed of person, it’s rarely boring.
