More often than not, family members get taken advantage of when parents are tired of being responsible for their kids. I understand that ‘it takes a village’ to raise a kid, but at the end of the day, the parent is ultimately responsible for their own child–not Auntie, not Grandma, and certainly not annoying kid shows on TV. So when this 19-year-old sister was constantly getting stuck caring for her 2-year-old niece, the only way to get through to Mom was to unironically leave the kid in her care. 

Frankly, it seems like this new mom was up to her gills in stress, but that doesn’t entitle her to abandon her child with her teenage sister whenever she feels like it. So when she put on her noise-canceling headphones and ignored the schedules of everyone else around her, ultimately, this mom learned a lesson in baby monitoring that she won’t soon forget.
