Announcing your pregnancy is part of the fun of having a baby. There are all sorts of videos on the internet of people doing it in clever, fun ways, and it always makes me cry. Especially if the dad cries. It’s such a joyous moment, and surprises are fun when they’re good news. It’s probably a moment that you’ll remember for the rest of your life– your family’s faces as they hear the big news. You would hate it if somebody took away that opportunity from you. 

But you likely have to keep some level of secret for some amount of time. It’s common practice to wait until the first trimester is over to make it official. So you likely have some weeks or months when you’re sitting on a piece of information. But you hope that everyone that you told (if you told anyone) is prudent enough to know not to spill the beans to the lord’s congregation. You hope that your inner circle is inner enough to know not to break the trust. But this isn’t always the case.
