Not every sister celebrates their sibling’s achievements.
Some siblings want to bask in the glory of their beloved siblings, while others want to steal the spotlight to become the new favored child of Mom and Dad. This young woman was always the center of attention at family events. Still, when her brother got a new promotion and the family celebrated with a semi-formal dinner, she couldn’t handle being sidelined and had to grab the mic, raise her voice, and talk about herself all night instead of commemorating her brother’s success.
Siblings are known to grow up in competition with one another.
It’s hard not to be competitive with your siblings because you spend an entire childhood being compared. Without trying, strangers will say things like, «You look so much like your sister!» or «Your brother plays hockey too, doesn’t he?» or «Isn’t that your sibling’s jacket?» Weirdly, these statements make a silent impact on a young person’s mind, making them constantly vie to be the «better» offspring in the family. Although they’ll never admit it out loud (actually, maybe some siblings would), everyone secretly yearns to be #1.
While there’s a time and place for well-intentioned sibling rivalry or family competition, it’s never at the dinner table of a meal celebrating another’s achievements. Outbursts like that are just in poor taste, as siblings can remain competitive with one another without fully stealing the spotlight. At least the guy in this next story found a way to find the perfect payback.
As fate would have it, his sister also had a promotion coming up, and if the big brother bided his time, he would be given the perfect opportunity for identically executed revenge. Too bad the family didn’t see it that way with their precious princess, Golden Child.
