Would you prefer to be stuck in traffic for two hours or take a 30-minute train ride? 

As much as we like to complain about public transportation, we would be lost without it. Many of us can’t just drive everywhere, and there are cities where you have so much traffic that it’s not even worth it to keep a car. Granted, we don’t like the feeling of being in the subway all cramped up like a can of sardines, but at least it gets us where we need to go. 

No one loves to leave their house just to be smashed into a bus or train full of people for hours. But at least there’s a way to get everywhere, since public transportation usually connects even the farthest points of all cities. No matter where you need to go, chances are you only need to hop on a bus or train, and you’ll be there in 30 minutes tops. If you do the math and calculate how much it would take you to get there by car, with traffic as crazy as it is and gas prices skyhigh, you’ll start seeing the bus as a perfectly nice option. 

For reference, a few days ago I had to go uptown to run some errands and meet my mom afterwards. She drove her car from work; I took the train. I’m not kidding when I say it took me about 40 minutes to get there (FYI, I live in the suburbs), and it took her an HOUR AND A HALF from the same neighbourhood. I’m not declaring myself the number one fan of trains, but in this case, it sure worked out wonderfully. 

Everything has flaws, and a car ride is definitely way more comfortable than any bus, train, or subway ride. But some of us don’t have a car anyway, and we are obligated to keep using public transportation. Since there is no escape, the least we can do is enjoy the ride and laugh it out, and these memes are a perfect fit to do just that!
