Tattooist Gets Roasted For Inking Song Link On Customer That Could Be “New Rickroll”

It’s not uncommon for your average music lover to display their dedication to a song or musician  by paying tribute to them with body art. From a tasteful lyric  to a full-blown flamboyant portrait, the possibilities are nearly endless. Sometimes, though, it can seem like creativity can go a little too far.

Such was the misfortune of the latest clients of aurora.tattooz, a UK-based tattooist who recently filmed the process of inking a Spotify song link on a customer. Despite executing the concept perfectly, the big reveal when the QR code was scanned has caused widespread dismay amongst viewers as it links to Panic! At The Disco’s «High Hopes».

Many were horrified by the choice due to its grating reputation. However, others mused that the video’s virality might encourage the song to become a new bait and switch meme, like the classic Rickroll. Regardless of what all the strangers on the internet think, the individual who chose to get the tattoo clearly cared enough about the tune to keep a permanent reminder of it. Is the choice of song questionable? Possibly. Does it matter if it’s not on our body? Probably not.
