One shared brain cell, no adult supervision, and way too many inside jokes.
For everyone who has at least one good friend in their life, you can agree that they can save your life.
I read somewhere that friends are the only relationship that you have in your life where loving someone is an active choice, and not something that just happens. A mother loves you because you’re their kid, and the same with siblings. But when it comes to friendship, for some reason of the universe, you met someone one random day, and that person became a pillar in your life, and you cannot imagine what could have happened if you never encountered them. You can’t say that about many people…
Friendships change depending on many factors, and of course, some of them can even end because people change: they find paths that alter their personality, so it’s normal to feel like there’s no more match. But there are some bonds that cannot be affected, no matter what happens in the middle. There are so many movies that are great at showing this, and I cannot tell you the number of times that I’ve cried watching those films.
In my personal experience, I’ve moved a lot growing up, and although it was never hard for me to make new friends, I do struggle with keeping the bonds that I had in the past. With time, I learned to make this effort (because, let’s be honest, taking care of any relationship is hard work), and now I can proudly say that I have friends all over the country. I’d say, though, that for me friendship is made with everyday choices, so having long-distance friends is not really the best approach for me… but loving my friends has kept me sane for some times that I cannot imagine not having certain people in my life.
So, because I want to honour my friends and I respect them so much, I decided to put together a story showcasing the true love behind a friendship. In my opinion, the purest form of love out there.
