I love real live animals, but I’d be lying if I said I don’t have some level of affection for crude recreations of gorillas, mice, and bears made through the art and science of animatronics. There are so many iconic animal animatronics that have both touched our lives and terrified us beyond belief. I’m talking about the giant dinosaur in the now-defunct Times Square Toys ‘R Us. I’m talking about all of the Gorillas that inhabit Rainforest Cafes across the country. I will be singing the praises of the Country Bear Jamboree until the day I die because I’m just so bemused by animal animatronics. Real bears cannot sing country songs in an ode to the American South, but animatronics sure can. If you’re looking forward to the chaos, madness, and confusion of the upcoming Five Nights at Freddy movie, you’re my kind of guy. If you’re a normal person who likes animals but is freaked out by animatronics, these animal memes should suffice.
