The 2025 Oscar nominations came out yesterday, and I’m sorry to say that Marvel did not snag a single one. We got too spoiled during the years that Black Panther movies came out, with Black Panther (2018) snagging seven Oscar nominations and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022) getting four. Last year, the only nod Marvel got was Best Visual Effects for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.

One of my favorite facts about the 2025 Oscars is that the iconic flop Madame Web was not eligible to be nominated for Best Picture at the 2025 Oscars. Best Picture nominees had to 

» Play in a theater in one of these six U.S. cities: Los Angeles, New York, the Bay Area, Chicago, Miami, or Atlanta, run for at least seven consecutive days at the same theater between January 1 and December 31, 2024, have a running time of more than 40 minutes, and meet extra standards for diversity and inclusion.» 

If you had voted for Madame Web for Best Picture, had it been eligible, these Marvel memes would have been just your style.
