If you are a Marvel fan, you’re probably looking forward to the upcoming Deadpool movie set to hit theaters this summer. It’s been a rough time for Marvel at the box office, and I think that bringing such iconic stars like Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman to the forefront once again will be precisely what the studio needs to get butts into seats. In my honest opinion, the best asset of the Deadpool cinematic universe is that they’re honest-to-goodness comedies. Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy movies have cute little jokes, but they don’t hold a candle to the memorability and borderline parody that Deadpool brings. Maybe I’m biased toward self-aware and incredibly meta comments on the superhero genre, but I don’t think I’m alone. If you like superhero movies that intentionally pontificate on what it means to be a superhero, I think these Marvel memes will serve you well.
