My opinion of a Marvel movie is shaped by when and where I watched it for the first time. Being in a packed audience watching Black Panther was such a fun viewing experience, and when I watched it on my iPad for a film class in college, it did not pack the same punch. I know that more and more people don’t care about going to the movie theater and will simply wait until anticipated films get released on Disney+ a month or two after they come out in theaters. I understand not wanting to shell out $18 when you’re already paying around that to get movies at home, but IMHO nothing beats the experience of being in the movie theater. A quiet drama I can do at home, but a big flashy superhero movie will never be as fun sitting on your couch than it will be in surround sound on a movie theater recliner.
