Cooking can be hard, bout no matter the outcome, we can get something out of it!

It’s funny how you can be the best or the worst cook, and still we should have something to talk about after. If you are particularly good, or the food was delicious, we would talk about how amazing the food that you prepare is, or about your talent. If it’s disgusting, burned, or it was a disaster the whole process, then we would laugh about it for years. The thing about cooking fails is that they can be hilarious. We all had a moment when we started cooking where we made every mistake possible for a human to commit. I can talk about it because I’m one of the worst cooks that you will ever meet. That’s why I have a couple of stories about it. 

A couple of months ago, I decided to challenge myself by cooking without a recipe –bad idea. I was making a meal that consisted of everything that I had left in my fridge. The problem was definitely not the outcome, as it was edible, and some would even say that it was delicious. The problem was my clumsiness. While preparing the casserole, I had to open a can of beans that I had left. This was not the kind that had the easy-opening feature. When I opened it, the lid flew through the kitchen and ended up on the stove. It could have been a disaster. Luckily, it was just something to laugh about. 

Another story I remember is when Y told a couple of friends that I would cook for them. At the time, they didn’t know me enough to know not to trust that sentence. I had to put some frozen fried chicken into the oven to heat it. Easy task, isn’t it? Well, it came out burned on the outside and raw on the inside. Nobody ate it, so we can laugh about it now. So, people, don’t be afraid of being a terrible cook. These mistakes are the reason we learn –I don’t, but maybe you do. At least they create funny anecdotes for us to tell.
