There are cathedrals everywhere for those who have eyes to see them, and nature is the biggest and most beautiful cathedral we’ve got. The past month has been full of natural phenomena that would’ve made a caveman lose his mind. If my primary stimulus was banging rocks together, and suddenly there was a full eclipse and a purple sky within the same month, I would assume that the world was coming to an end.
Aurora Borealis is one of my favorite things that nature has done lately. There are so few naturally occurring purple things, and the fact that the sky turned bright purple in most of the United States is such an underrated gift. Most people who want to see the Northern Lights have to travel up to the arctic circle to see them, but my friends were able to get a glimpse right in their midwestern backyards. If you’re hoping that more solar flares might be in our future, these nature memes can tide you over for now.
