I am forever grateful that the most important type of love in my life isn’t romantic. I can count on one hand the number of people that I’ve had genuine feelings for, and knowing that it is such a rare occurrence for me acts as a freeing reminder that my life can be happy without revolving around romance.

I know that this perspective puts me in a minority, though. When we live in a world where finding ‘the one’ is one of life’s most important goals and also, everyone but incels is totally doing it all the time, there is a lot of pressure to care about romantic relationships.

One of the downsides of this is that many of those who use dating apps end up making a fool of themselves. Some of it is thanks to these silly preconceived ideas, and some of it is just because these individuals are jerks. Either way, it’s not pleasant to be on the receiving end. Show some decorum!
