Well, it’s official. Tom Felton is returning to the Harry Potter world as an actor. I think many people expected him to portray Lucius Malfoy in the upcoming Harry Potter HBO Max series, but instead, he’s playing the older version of Draco Malfoy in the Broadway play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. The play follows the antics of Harry and Draco’s sons as they deal with being outcasts at Hogwarts, who are complete opposites of their parents. 

I’m not entirely sure how to feel about this casting choice. It’s a common joke that Tom Felton needs to move on from Draco, and it would be hack to tell that joke again. I’m guessing the stage show has been trying to get him for years, but he’s been holding out on being cast in a Potterverse film project.
