The kids are officially back in school, and I can imagine that this is causing a lot of mixed emotions for parents right now. On one hand, it’s great to have these rugrats out of your hair for 7 hours a day. School might not technically be childcare, but it sometimes feels like it is when you get to work peacefully for hours at a time. At the same time, you can’t help but miss them at least a little bit. 

The worst part of the back-to-school season is how many forms parents must sign. I swear, you have to give your child permission to do anything. Not to mention the meet-the-teacher nights where you awkwardly converse with your kid’s teachers and pray they haven’t given her too much grief. Once Halloween comes around, everything is mostly settled, but right now constitutes a lot of change.
