About a week ago a colleague tweeted about «Reba TikTok,» and as a geriatric millennial, I was immediately intrigued. Country singer Reba McEntire’s heartwarming sitcom, was a mainstay on the crappy television my Dad received as a graduation gift. The show managed to entertain despite the set’s horrifyingly grainy quality, and I became very acquainted with the single mom’s unorthodox family and friends. While it seemed odd that TikTok would embrace an ancient show that ran from 2001-2007, I bit. And boy am I glad I did.
My introduction came via TikToker @iconaklast, who shared a video of themselves doing the gallant duty of throwing away expired milk, set to Reba’s «I’m a Survivor.» Midway through the video, @iconaklast transforms into an impressive version of the redheaded entertainer, replete with a warm and friendly motherly smile.

Most of the «I’m A Survivor» memes have a similar theme. You know, glorifying small, menial tasks that should be effortless for well-adjusted human beings. Doing laundry. Replacing the toilet paper. Chucking spoiled milk. Others riff on being a motherly figure to the friend group. Our favorite makes a funny nod to Twilight by replacing Reba with sweet, sweet Charlie Swan.
