Of all the many, many, MANY topics that get social media users hot under the collar, the great tipping debate has to be one of the most contentious. Nothing threatens to start up WW3 between the US and Europe like each side sharing their opinions on whether you should tip food service workers (and how much). 

It’s such an ingrained argument that not even celebrities are let off the hook, including beloved Gen Z idol Harry Styles. When a fan visited a restaurant that he had ordered takeout from several years ago, they were disappointed to see that he had left a measly 7% tip on his order.

Taking to TikTok to call out this behavior, reactions were mixed. While some shared in this sadness, others were quick to excuse what had happened with a few even mentioning times when the singer had been an extremely generous tipper. Mr. Styles may be saved from permanent cancellation yet.
