The Most Entertaining Parenting Posts of the Week (February 12, 2024)

When I was growing up, there were always a couple of kids whose parents went a little too far with shielding them from the world. They were the kids who didn’t watch SpongeBob, not because they didn’t have cable but because their mom thought he was an inappropriate influence. I have rewatched SpongeBob episodes at many different ages, and its only influence on me was making me funnier. But alas, some parents don’t want their kids to be in on jokes that define their generation with fun jokes for the whole family.

Some parents don’t realize that entertainment doesn’t necessarily need to promote virtues to be suitable for their kids. There’s so much debate over what is harmful to kids, and I guarantee that a humorous TV show with some hidden adult jokes is going to screw up a child way less than unsupervised access to YouTube Kids. If you agree, then these parenting posts might make you chuckle.
