Happy Belated Father’s Day! If there’s one thing I know about dads, it’s that they’re usually not as good at texting as moms. That doesn’t mean they don’t deserve to be celebrated just the same! Mother’s Day was first legally recognized as a holiday in 1914 by Woodrow Wilson, but Father’s Day wasn’t recognized as a nationwide holiday until 1972. There’s an ongoing debate around this topic: Is Father’s Day less celebrated because fathers do less than mothers? Or does society take fathers for granted while lionizing mothers? Like many great debates, the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle. There are a lot of dads out there who are not worth celebrating in the least, but that doesn’t mean that all dads are inadequate and lesser than moms. The following parenting texts feature mediocre and poor parenting by mothers and fathers. You get bonus points if you can’t tell the gender of the bad parent.
