It is pretty undeniable that Vine helped to pave the way for TikTok, but considering this, it is interesting to see how many differences there are between them. Famously, there was a six-second time limit to Vine, whereas nowadays, a TikTok can be up to thirty minutes in length. Vines focused on goofy humor, whereas the clock app can host everything from silly jokes to serious discussions to straight-up video diary entries. 

Because TikTok can offer its users such a diverse range of content, it can sometimes seem like it lacks the joie de vivre of its predecessor. However, there is still plenty to be found if you know where to look, and sometimes it comes to you when you’re not even looking.
