If there is any common saying that I think suits TikTok, it is that the world would be a very dull place if we were all the same. While this may be the app that pioneered the idea that none of us have ever had a unique experience, it seems to do a pretty good job of exposing us to all manner of individuals both quirky and eccentric. 

I’d argue that this is one of its greatest strengths. It takes some dedicated tailoring of the algorithm to get there, but the FYP is a great place to find new perspectives. At the same time, it can be host to a lot of garbage as well. All of this is part of the game, and millions of us have no choice but to play it. At least it brings us plenty of amusing screenshots to gawp at when we have a spare minute.
