Today I learned that the Appalachian Mountains are 480 million years old! That’s about 100 million years before animals walked on land, which explains why if you were to go digging around the Appalachian trail, you would only find the fossils of weird ancient ocean creatures, like trilobites. @AlexPetrovnia gave a thorough and fascinating history lesson on the Appalachian mountains via Twitter and our minds couldn’t be more blown.
