TikToker Causes Controversy By Selling Photos Of Newborn Baby To Fans

If there’s one thing to be learned from being terminally online, it’s that the internet famous will stop at nothing to squeeze every last drop of our time, attention and money. Whether they’re marketing their gamer girl bathwater or cancelling each other in extravagant YouTube videos, there’s always a grifter somewhere smashing through the boundaries of social acceptability for the sake of a profit.

It’s bad enough when influencers are simply marketing themselves, but when family gets involved it can be a whole new ballgame. That hasn’t stopped new mom and TikToker Zoe Laverne, who has introduced her followers to the baby daughter she had just welcomed with her fiancé by offering an album of their first photos together for $15.

Laverne is no stranger to controversy. Last year, she was forced to apologize after footage emerged of her kissing a 13 year old fan — but despite the shocking revelation, this hasn’t seemed to put a stop to the content mill. Although some have tried to defend her restricting access to the baby, her latest ploy has left many people outraged and questioning why someone would feel the need to do this with their child. Growing up with an influencer as a parent is relatively new and uncharted territory, of which we are yet to see the full results. However, if schemes like this are anything to go by, it’s probably bad news.
