2024 is a great year to be a Lord of the Rings fan. The franchise can expect not one, but two new releases this year: the prequel movie The War of the Rohirrim, and the long-awaited season two of the series The Rings of Power. 

It’s a testament to how rich the inspiration material is, not least because the wait for these is made easier by the fact that the LOTR fandom is still dedicated to putting out as many memes as possible about their favorite fantasy. The day that the meme makers run out of ideas will be a shocking day indeed.

Thankfully, we don’t have to think about that right now as we have numerous examples of their humorous capabilities below. You might not be able to visit Middle-earth again until those big titles are released, but these make a more than worthwhile stopgap before they are out in the world.
