AI has officially been having a moment recently. While all the technology nerds have been flocking to try out ChatGPT, those of us less ambitious and more vain have been distracted by another shiny new toy. For a small fee, Lensa promises to take a photograph of you and turn it into different styles of artistically rendered portraits. 

As a result, the walls of Instagram and Twitter have been painted with peoples’ faces even more than usual over the past week. It’s been a step up from boring, regular selfies, but it’s also been inescapable to the point of annoying. Naturally, this has led many to have a lot to say about the gimmick. While it may be fun, it has its downsides too. Where are they storing all that data that we paid to give away? Still, with the atrocious digital footprint that most of us have, it’s probably a drop in the ocean.
