Even the healthiest relationships have their power struggles. Nothing is going to be 50/50 all of the time, especially when you consider the myriad of different social factors that make up the average person’s life. 

Some of these are down to circumstances that are changeable, but others are simply hard facts — like age, for instance. The topic of how big an age gap is acceptable between partners has long been a hot button topic on social media. In some circles, the half your age plus seven rule has never seemed to have less validity. 

At the same time, it’s still pretty common for celebrity land to bring us relationships that have age differences of over a decade. One of the most recent to hit the headlines has been Chris Evans and Alba Baptista, who have got married with a 16 year difference between them.

While one vociferous Twitter user decided that this was unacceptable, many others were inclined to disagree. It’s definitely a whole different ball game from those creeps waiting for minors to turn legal.
