Did everyone forget that we have free will?

You don’t have to go watch the new Harry Potter series just because you cherished the original. Resist the urge to give Warner Bros your viewership! It’s already clear that the new remake is going to be a watered down version of a bewitching franchise everyone has already watched (and rewatched a thousand times), so why would fans flock to HBO to witness what appears to be a shamelessly uncreative reenactment of the same content? Well, I suppose fans just can’t resist.

Whether driven by curiosity, compulsion, or genuine interest, guaranteed viewership is the real reason that copy-paste slop continues to fill our streaming service home screens. Yes, it’s our fault that repeated, boring content continues to be produced. We simply can’t look away.
