Nothing can break the bond between a mother and her newborn baby, not even the entitled demands of an auntie waiting in the wings with adoption paperwork. 

This newlywed couple was sideswiped at a family dinner when they announced their pregnancy. Instead of being happy for them and relishing in their joy, the eldest sister immediately stood up and demanded that they draw up the adoption paperwork right away. Although the oldest sister had been struggling to conceive, sure, but the timing, the outburst, and the confrontational mania of the baby fever that followed were not what this couple anticipated when they shared their good news. 

Babies have a way of getting the whole family riled up. 

For better or worse, everyone in the family loves a new baby addition. With their tiny hands, button noses, and joyful, innocent laughs, it’s hard not to immediately fall in love with a newborn child. However, when that child is not rightfully yours, regardless of how strong your maternal or paternal feelings are for that kiddo, it’s not coming home with you; that baby is going home with its parents. 

Oftentimes, family lines get blurred when it comes to parenting a child, which gives eager aunts and uncles the opportunity to get in their fair share of lovable baby moments. However, when this auntie-to-be rushed straight into baby-stealing mode when her sister announced her pregnancy, she effectively burned the bridge of trust between a future mother and an overzealous aunt. While her plight was troubling, for everyone involved, demanding that a sister give up her child just «to help you out» is an insane request, which was met by this newlywed couple and expectant parents in the most logical way. 

They refused to let their baby’s future and their imminent life-changing milestone be tarnished by a sister’s selfish outburst. Instead of battling it out with a totally feral guilt-trip, they happily receded away from the entire family tree, hoping to find peace in their own family unit as it grew one size bigger than before. Parents have enough to consider when their new baby is on the way, so these clever parents refused to enable a jealous battle between siblings and instead chose to prioritize their unborn child and future family.
