Realistically, what number of jobs could disappear off the face of the Earth and we wouldn’t see too much of a difference? I bet if you count up the sheer number of spreadsheet-analyzing roles and useless middle management positions, it would take many a career completely out of the running. It’s no wonder that so many people don’t really like their work, because it doesn’t feel like it is fulfilling much purpose other than to make the richest in society even richer.

At least when we begin to despair about all of this, we can turn to work memes to show us that we’re not alone in that fact. The world of work is rarely easy or particularly fun for anybody, but most of us still have to earn a living regardless. It allows us to be funny about it, even if this can often come from a desperate place.
