Contrary to what some stinky boys might say, hair is a very important thing. There are some guys who walk around this world with the same haircut for decades, but they are in the minority. For most people, especially women and girls, hair is a part of their identity. I am a proud bottle blonde, and I wouldn’t want it any other way. Sometimes I have nightmares that my hair gets dyed back to brown, and I awake from those dreams in a cold sweat. Society is going to have to take my bleach and tone away from my cold dead body. 

Not everybody has autonomy when it comes to their hair. When you’re a kid, your parents control what you do with your hair. In the case of this story, a wicked stepmother straight out of a Cinderella story forced her stepdaughter to cut her long beautiful hair against her will. The worst part about it is that she thinks this was justifiable.
