Last minute vacation plans are either the best memories that almost didn’t happen or a complete headache for everyone involved. The way that they turn out is partly a matter of luck, but also one of attitude. When somebody plans a trip without a lot of forethought, there usually has to be some acceptance that they may have to make a compromise here and there. Things won’t just magically fall into place because they want them to.

If other people are involved, there has to be even more of a focus on managing expectations. Their feelings and opinions hold just as much weight, not least if they are paying their share for a vacation that they want to do their best to enjoy. Despite the fact that they are supposed to be an opportunity to relax, holiday planning can prove stressful, as some vacationers feel the pressure to enjoy the good time that they hope to have to the fullest. When plans get upset, it is not as easy to do that.

Nonetheless, even the most meticulously thought-out vacations do not always wind up being what people thought they would be. While there is a time and a place to protest this, it is more often the best option to accept that certain factors are always going to be beyond the realm of personal control. Not every experience is going to be memorable in a good way.
