Woman treats her friend’s home like a free event venue for her kid’s birthday, keeps pushing boundaries with demands, then changes the location and doesn’t invite the friend

Look, one of the things I love the most is hosting. I don’t need a special occasion because having friends around for dinner is the occasion. Like, the party is the reason for the party if you ask me. But this story proves that some people look at a friendship and see mutual trust and shared history. And other people look at a friendship and see a luxury condo with a party room they have not figured out how to access yet. Like it’s some sort of video game side quest you have to talk to an NPC to unlock.

A person who treats a friend’s nice apartment the way most people treat a hotel isn’t what I would call a friend, but maybe it’s just me. They do not want to stay there. They want the amenities, the aesthetic, and the address, and they would prefer if the actual owner could just coordinate logistics quietly in the background while everyone else has a good time. The friend with the nice place does not get to be a guest at their own home. They get to be the venue manager who also paid for the venue.
