Sharing photos on social media has become the marker of almost every significant event in our lives. As the old adage goes, «Pics or it didn’t happen.» And often, it can be a fun, exhilarating practice– to receive an avalanche of approval from friends, family, and whoever happens to be scrolling your page. Weddings are a prime example of this. For many, those are the most important photos you will ever take, so it follows that their distribution should be at the hands of its subjects. You don’t want anyone stealing your thunder, or worse, posting a photo you would have never posted yourself. It can seem trivial, but this is your image we’re talking about. You have the right to be protective over it. 

That’s why this story from a Reddit user stirred up so much internet angst. A warning to mothers of brides the world over.
