Good morning, hardworking employees. Thank you for attending another Monday meeting that probably could have been an email. Welcome back! Don’t worry, though. This one won’t last long, and nobody is going to ask for updates or follow-ups on anything.
Today we’re recognizing the workplace achievements that no manager notices; therefore, they never make it into performance reviews. Let’s start with the people who can read an email that makes absolutely no sense and still reply with, «Happy to help!» That level of self-control isn’t taught anywhere. Neither is the ability to complain about the email in a private chat while sounding perfectly professional in the real conversation.
Waiting for something to load deserves a mention too. You click once, watch the little spinning circle for a while, convince yourself the button didn’t work, and click it again. The same page opens twice. Someone should recognize your patience. And when you finish a thirty-minute meeting in fifteen? That should come with some kind of reward too. Everyone gets half their afternoon back, and the meeting covers everything it needed to. It feels like all stars aligned.
Lunch deserves another honorable mention. Deciding what to eat can be a hard decision of the workday. Everyone asks what everyone else wants, nobody has a clear opinion, and forty minutes later the entire team orders from the same place they always do. It’s tradition at this point. But the one who has the initiative to finally decide what to order is the one who deserves the award. You see? The workday is full of victories nobody celebrates. Leaving a meeting exactly when it was supposed to end. Catching a mistake before hitting send. Watching someone else ask the question you didn’t want to ask. Finding out the deadline got pushed back by a day. Those moments don’t earn promotions, but they do make the afternoon a little better. So today’s awards don’t come with a trophy, a bonus, or a free coffee. I’m sorry, I wish I could do that. But what I can do is reward you with 24 work memes instead. Considering it’s Monday, that might be the better prize anyway.
