Happy Ides of March, everybody! I know that in the grand scheme of historical time, March 15th is not a happy day for everybody, but I extend an olive branch to anyone who wants to celebrate the most famous political assassination of all time. There’s no reason why we shouldn’t have some fun on this iconic day in ancient Roman history. None of you people are related to Julius Caesar, and if you are, I’m not convinced that the generational trauma of this event will prevent you from celebrating with some delicious Caesar salad or Caesar dressing. Maybe you could watch the adaptation of the Shakespeare play Julius Caesar that was filmed inside a dead mall in 2012 (true story). Maybe all you need to commemorate the stabbing of that ruthless leader, Julius Caesar, by Brutus and his cronies is to scroll through 15 hilarious Ides of March memes. That ought to be enough, right?
