I feel like I can’t trust people who don’t think the moon is cool. I mean, its effect on the Earth’s axis is one of the main reasons we can all live on this planet, plus it controls the tides. It also (seems to) change shape throughout the course of the month, something that human beings have tracked and even planned rituals around for pretty much as long as we have existed. As if that wasn’t enough, it’s very pretty, too.

All of these reasons and more are a fine excuse to put together some memes about it, not least as we mark the 55th anniversary of the moon landing this week… and it’s a full moon this weekend. We give thanks to our lunar friend for everything it does the best way that we know how, via the medium of stupid internet humor. It’s kind of inspiring in a way.
