We all hate to fail. It’s not in our nature to easily accept defeat. We hate to be caught with our pants down, proverbially. It activates that caveman part of our brains that wants to run and hide our faces from the rest of our tribe. But failure is also a necessary part of life. It teaches us things about ourselves and our world. When we’re babies, we fail all the time. We’re constantly doing things wrong and learning from that. We’re sticking things in our mouths and learning what not to stick in our mouths. We’re constantly saying things wrong and learning what not to say. It’s part of what makes us human. 

But we have to learn, and that’s the only way we know how. We try until we can’t try anymore. But these images represent failure beyond the normal realm. They’re exceptional examples of failure. They fail so hard that they come back around and become spectacular. It’s like watching a car crash. You just can’t seem to look away. It’s why we keep coming back to the design fails list every week.
