When is a salary bump worth a decrease in your quality of life?

We can’t get away from the fact that for most people, what they do for work and the money that they earn from it determine quite a lot when it comes to their health and happiness. This is something that any full-time employee and business owner is going to spend a significant portion of their week doing, after all. 

While in the past, those pursuing their careers were more likely to prioritize them over all else, things tend to be a bit more nuanced nowadays. Those just starting out in their field of choice aren’t always just thinking about how they can get ahead, but also if their job will be compatible with the kind of life that they want. Money is great and all, but it isn’t always worth paying the price of being miserable.

Still, it is not uncommon for somebody to take on a well-paid role that they don’t like that much so they can save up for a couple of years, then move to a job that suits them better. While they may not enjoy it, this kind of opportunity can be crucial to the success of their future endeavors.
