Like Festivus or May 4th, Galentine’s Day is a holiday that started in a fictional world and has now bled into our own, real one. From the ingenious mind of Parks & Recreation’s Leslie Knope, Galentine’s Day is celebrated a day before the Val one, and it’s all about getting together with your non-romantic pals and celebrating platonic love. It doesn’t have to be gender specific, it’s just about friendship. Friend love doesn’t get a designated day, after all. 

So while Valentine’s Day is all about gushing over your twin flame, Galentine’s Day is about giving due to the friendships that keep you afloat the other 364 days of the year.
