Summer vacation is breathing down our necks and we’re as excited as we are scared. We’re excited about trips to the beach and happy kids who we don’t have to help with homework. We’re scared of thighs sticking to chairs and the kids asking us to entertain them all day. We’re excited for the last day of school. We’re scared about keeping them up to date with learning so they don’t totally unlearn everything they just learned. We’re excited to watch the look of joy on our kid’s faces as they descend a slip-and-slide. 

We’re scared for that moment when we’re too confident in our ability to go down said slip-and-slide ourselves and we end up with a tweaked knee and rug burn. We’re excited about block parties and barbecues. We’re scared of all the cooking and cleaning and Costco runs we will have to do for those block parties and barbecues.
