Parenting is no walk in the park. Actually, it is a lot of walking and a lot of time spent in parks, but it’s not easy. Being a parent is like being an ER nurse, a psychologist, a performer, and a maid all at once. Plus, you don’t get paid to do it. You actually have to pay to do it, kind of a lot. 

The hidden costs of having a child will come out of nowhere. Sure, you anticipate food, clothing, and schooling-related expenses. But they don’t tell you about Robux. Whatever they are, suddenly every child in my life is begging for them. They don’t tell you about Squishmallows. They are pretty cute, but why do we need to have 25 of them around the house? They don’t tell you about the hidden food costs when they suddenly decide that they hate Chex Mix despite surviving off of it for months. Kids aren’t great with money.
