There is nothing like a good political drama to take your mind off of the… political drama of the real world. We all need escape, even if that escape eerily reminds us of what’s going on in our country and in our world. Star Wars doesn’t shy away from big topics, and it gives heavy themes their due. This is one of the reasons we keep coming back to it… it keeps being relevant. 

There keep being abuses of power and ruthless leaders and political intrigue and rebellions and wise old guys who speak in funny riddles. As long as that stuff keeps happening in real life, we will still reach for our 8th rewatch of Rogue One this year. It’s useful. It helps us understand our own times gone by. All I’m saying is that if they taught Star Wars in high schools, they would be doing a favor to them.
