The 20’s have been quite an era for society in the new millennium. We can’t seem to catch a break out there on the mainstream news, but there are a few ways that common folk can grab life by the horns and become the master of their own mood. Albeit abysmal at times, the internet is good for a few key things: Cat videos, catching up with long-distance friends, and funny memes.
Aren’t you glad to live in an era of infinite memeage?
As a meme connoisseur myself, I feel quite fortunate to have the thin-lipped jokes and snarky comment section at my disposal. Fueling the inner beast of my dark humor, the void of everlasting dread pushed away by the prospect of memes. No matter how dumb, how silly, or how useless a meme may feel, it’s the resulting smile and boosted mood that proves to be valuable.
Everlasting like the Myspace Coolpix album dumps of every millennial’s first night out in 2009, memes live forever on the internet. In the best way possible, this immortalization of humans has turned memes into a time capsule of culture, cementing moments of positivity onto the scribe of time for generations to come. Ancient memes like corn kid, the Numa Numa guy, and the Philosoraptor are etched into the tablet of humanity just as much as the bad news.
